Objectively speaking, Atheism and Theism are on the same intellectual and scientific level. Scientifically, neither can test to see that the hypothesis “There is a God" is true or false, and therefore are on the same intellectual footing, as far as belief goes.
Atheism (not in the sense of rejection of belief in gods, but in the rejection that there are any gods) is just as much a faith-based belief as Theism; and they are scientifically and intellectually on the same level.
I always bring this up when Atheists treat me like I am stupid when I tell them about my faith. But their belief in Atheism, requires just as much faith as my belief in God.
