When we lose someone, we don’t truly lose them. Especially those in our lives that served as mentors, guides, teachers, and parents- whether or not they were related by blood. The lessons they taught us, the memory of them, and their hopes for us still live on through us. This year has been a very hard one both for myself and my DLF. We’ve both experienced heavy losses and sometimes it’s really hard to look past everything and just carry on.

Since I did a really…really horrible mother’s day picture I thought I would make up for it with a father’s day image that’s a little better. Though…this one’s not as happy. XD;

——- Anyway, in context of the picture. XD ———-
Sparrowhand wasn’t really a father to anyone biologically but through his lifetime, he became something of a fatherly figure to quite a few individuals. Towards the end of his life, he kind of took that role up to a younger wild elf who had recently lost his family, his tribe, and was close to losing his way. He sided with the enemy in hopes of saving what remained of his family. He learned the hard way that it wasn’t the best of ideas. Sparrow slowly grew fond of the younger man and became something of a father-figure and a mentor to him. After his murder, his spirit lingered behind to keep watch over those he left behind. He’ll likely pass on once he’s certain that they will be able to manage on their own.

There’s a few things that need to be tweaked in this but I wanted to get it out before I went to bed. XD Overall, I’m not too unhappy with it. Yeah, Sparrow has no shading but he looked really odd shaded and ghostly so I decided to leave it out.

Catik belongs to Dusty, Sparrow belongs to me.
