Though it doesn’t reveal anything new, CoroCoro also reveals the pieces about the new Pokémon revealed last week. In doing so, it confirms that it replaces Mewtwo on the movie poster and confirms that it is in fact a new form of Mewtwo, with the poster explanation stating that Mewtwo has awakened and become its new shape.
Well this is kind of a bummer. All week the forums have been teeming with the schoolyard nostalgia of having spent hours looking for ‘mewthree’. It was a pretty common myth back in the day and many of the kids in my generation remember hearing that mewthree was something that you could get- but the details on how to get him were always kind of sketchy. Some said it was under the truck near the SS Anne (or mew was, depending on the rumor), or that you would randomly encounter him. Either way, now that we know it’s just another form of mewtwo rather than a new poke’mon…it’s kind of a bummer. I’m not overly fond of the ‘alternate forms’ outside of poke’mon like Rotom and Castfoam (they actually make some sense).
